《公共英语》课程教学大纲

一、课程简介

㈠ 课程名称:高职英语 College English(中、英文)

㈡ 总学时与学分:128学时   8学分

㈤ 内容提要(不超过200字)

公共英语教学是高等职业教育的一个有机组成部分,是必修的一门公共基础课,授课对象为我院三年制高职一年级各专业的学生。该课程以教育部高等教育司制定的《高职高专英语课程教学基本要求》为指导,遵循“以应用为目的,实用为主,够用为度”的原则,强调语言基本知识、基本技能的训练和语言应用能力的培养并重。主要讲授英语基础知识,具体内容包括听说读写技能的训练等内容。

二、教学目的和教学方法

教学目的:

通过教学,使学生掌握一定的英语基础知识和技能,具有一定的目标语言综合应用能力,即一定的听、说、读、写、译的能力,从而能借助词典阅读和翻译有关英语业务资料,在涉外交际的日常活动和业务活动中进行简单的口头和书面交流。使学生能以英语为工具,获取专业所需的信息,指导学生掌握良好的英语学习方法,为进一步提高英语学习水平奠定良好的基础。

教学方法:

本课程以课堂教学为主,结合作业、自学、测验等教学手段和形式完成课程教学任务。

以社会需求为出发点,以“以应用为目的,实用为主,够用为度”为原则,突出实用性,培养应用型人才;整合教学内容,促进学生听、说、读、写、译各项语言技能的协调发展;以任务型教学为主要的教学方法,实施研究性学习,进行英语学习策略训练,采用现代化教学手段,培养具有创造性、跨文化交际能力和自主学习能力的人才;逐步培养学生的自主性学习能力,在教学的实施过程中积极贯彻“以科学的理论为指导,灵活多样地展开教学”的原则,探索并实施以学生为主体的教学模式,充分调动学生的学习积极性,培养学生的自主学习能力,使英语学习从课内延伸到课外,形成英语学习的新风气,新形势。注重学生在完成一系列任务中提高交际能力,达到实践目标。

本英语课程均为理论课,无实验教学

College life is the "best years of your life". Everyone has a different image of what college is or what the typical college experience may be. Images of a new start to learn in class or by yourselves, to organize and participate in dorm or school parties, to meet new friends from different cities and to join student organizations are probably some of those in mind. During these golden years of learning and life, you can finally build up a good personality, an effective way of learning and an optimistic attitude towards life, which is essential for your future. Be sure to cherish the precious time and make the best of it!

    Friendship is a kind of human relation. It is a human instinct to make friends. When in trouble, we need friends to offer us help, support and encouragement. With success achieved we also need friends to share our joys. Friendship is also one of the greatest pleasures that we can enjoy. No one can make the most of his life without a friend. Knowing how valuable friendship is, we should be very careful in making friends. When we have established friendship, we ought to cherish and treasure it by means of words and deeds. Only thus, can we develop real friendship and keep the sacred lamp of friendship burning all our life.

    There is a saying that "You can either travel or read, but either your body or soul must be on the way." With the improvement of living standards, more and more people have time and money to travel. During traveling, one can meet various people, make new friends and experience various lifestyles of different places. Almost everyone has their own favorite place to travel because of specific reasons, such as the people, climate or scenery of that place, the influence of friends or some beautiful memories and so on. Nowadays, people do not have to think much about transportation. People can travel by car or driving themselves to near places, or by train, plane to far places. So, if you have a place want to travel, just go and relax yourself.

    Food is important to all the people who live in the word. As we know, good health is more important than wealth. Food gives us energy, so we must have enough food to keep healthy. "You are what you eat", nutrition experts often use this saying to promote better eating habits What we put in our mouths does become a part of us. But we can look at this statement in another way. What we eat reflects who we are — as people and as a culture. Do you want to understand another culture? Then you ought to find out about its food.

Some aspects of culture are learned in a formal setting, such as a school, while other aspects are learned informally m the process of day-to-day living, All cultures change through time. Changes m culture often come about by borrowing from another culture and by invention. To enrich our national culture, we need to adopt new inventions and new ideas into our way of life constantly.

Now, the young people even can't live without the social I network, and it plays an important role in modem society. Social network websites have rapidly increased in popularity over the past few years. Many people have registered and become members of some social network websites, such as WeChat, MicroBlog and Facebook. These websites have become parts oftheir daily life. Social network sites serve as a good platform for people to make new friends andkeep in touch with others. Still, we should be aware of the potential dangers involved. It is very necessary to protect our individual privacy.

Too often we take it as granted, but we should know love is a priceless gift化at should be cherished. But how should we cherish love? There is a saying that "The quickest way to receive love is to give it; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly and the best way to keep love is to give it wings". It is important for us to learn how to love in our life. Only when you know how to love, you will be a real man in this world. Love brings us warmth in the fearful coldness; love brings us bright when life gets hard and dark; love brings us confidence when we are tired out and want to give up. It deserves all the admiring words and is even beyond life and death.

There is no denying that we do something harmful with money, but we can't say money is the root of evil. Just like a hammer, we can use a hammer to kill someone, but we can't say that hammer is a devil. Money itself is neither good nor bad. It is a mirror, a perfect and important minror that reflects bo化darkness and brilliance ofhumanity. In other words, our attitude towards money depends on ourselves.

The best fashion belongs to the T-shirt and jeans, which will never be out of date. If girls don't know what to wear, choose white T-shirt.
