我校国际商学院赴华东交通大学参与主题文化英语角活动
暖阳，温澜潮生。近日，我校国际商学院副院长王伟博士带领3名英语协会骨干学生，赴华东交通大学参与主题文化英语角活动。此次交流以“孔子与儒学思想”为核心议题，在华东交通大学文化英语角负责人Vivian（万薇）老师的热情接待与精心组织下，我校师生与来自不同领域的参与者深度互动，在英语交流的沉浸式氛围中感悟儒学智慧，收获满满。
以英会友，共赴儒韵之约
华东交通大学文化英语角作为面向社会的公益协会组织，始终以搭建跨文化交流平台为宗旨，此次聚焦“孔子与儒学”的主题，恰好为热爱英语、关注传统文化的参与者提供了思想碰撞的契机。活动伊始，Vivian（万薇）老师向在场参与者介绍了活动主旨与流程，着重阐述了用英语传播中华优秀传统文化的重要意义，让大家对此次交流充满期待。
王伟副院长代表我校对华东交通大学文化英语角的邀请与筹备表示感谢。他提到，专科院校的英语教学不仅要注重口语能力的提升，更要依托语言载体，让学生读懂中华优秀传统文化、讲好中国故事。此次带队参与活动，正是希望同学们在真实的跨文化交流场景中，锤炼语言技能，拓宽文化视野。
深度互动，感悟思想碰撞
活动核心环节中，Vivian（万薇）老师围绕孔子思想、儒学核心理念展开精彩分享，用通俗易懂的英语解读“仁、义、礼、智、信”的内涵，结合现代生活案例阐释儒学思想的当代价值。分享过程中，现场参与者积极提问、热烈讨论，我校学生主动融入交流，用英语表达自己对儒学思想的理解，展现了良好的语言素养与文化自信。
在小组互动环节，我院学生与来自不同学校、不同行业的参与者分组讨论，围绕“儒学思想与现代人际交往”“传统文化在跨文化交流中的作用”等话题展开深入探讨。大家在交流中相互学习、彼此启发，不仅锻炼了英语口语表达能力，更结识了一批热爱英语、关注传统文化的优秀朋友。现场氛围轻松热烈，思想的火花在交流中不断迸发。
满载而归，共启成长新篇
活动结束后，交流学生纷纷表示此次交流收获颇丰。“在真实的跨文化交流场景中，我不仅敢开口说英语了，还对儒学思想有了更深刻的理解，也认识了很多优秀的朋友。”一名参与学生感慨道。此次活动不仅为学生提供了锤炼口语、拓宽视野的实践平台，更让大家深刻体会到英语作为跨文化交流工具的重要意义，进一步激发了学习英语、传播中华优秀传统文化的热情。
此次活动的精彩与深度给其中一名外国学生Muhammad Ali Zaman 留下了深刻的印象，并用英文记录了此次交流的感悟与收获。心得感悟如下：
Cultural English Corner Session
The Cultural English Corner runs every week, helping students learn outside the classroom. It provides students with a chance to speak and listen in English. The Cultural English Corner brings together students from different schools and invites guest speakers from universities and diverse cultural backgrounds. Its aim is to improve students' English speaking skills, especially in scenarios where they need to resolve conflicts or communicate clearly in school and daily life. Each meeting of the Cultural English Corner is designed as an opportunity for speaking, careful listening and practical practice.
This session marked the end of this year’s series. It started with the introduction of the guest speaker, Miss Vivian, a lecturer at East China Jiaotong University. She gave an interesting talk about Confucianism and the philosophy of Confucius. During the lecture, she explained that Confucianism is a philosophy focusing on values, behavior, respect for others, harmony in relationships and personal growth. It teaches people to act with honesty, patience and responsibility in both life and work. Miss Vivian emphasized that the core idea of Confucianism is to build a peaceful society through good character, respectful communication and mutual understanding. The lecture left a deep impression, making me realize that Confucianism offers valuable guidance on how to treat others.
Miss Vivian also shared the journey of a Confucian scholar who has completed 72 academic programs and obtained a master’s degree in China. This example inspired all students to value lifelong learning, self-discipline and commitment to knowledge. She noted that true success comes from effort, humility and a strong dedication to learning, and further explained how Confucian philosophical ideas can be applied to school life and personal growth today. The students listened attentively and gained insights into how these ideas can shape their life paths.
To make the session practical and relatable, Miss Vivian presented a real-life case study about two students facing a communication conflict and introduced a five-step conflict resolution model. First, she guided the students to identify the root cause of the conflict, which was mutual blaming. Second, she encouraged them to listen carefully and understand each other’s perspectives. Third, she taught them to express their feelings and concerns through respectful communication. Then, under her guidance, the students worked together to find mutually acceptable solutions. Finally, she discussed the importance of reaching an agreement and maintaining good relationships. This step-by-step approach helped the students understand how conflicts can be resolved peacefully, which is applicable in both academic and social settings.
In the group discussion and interactive activities section, students actively shared their thoughts, asked questions and talked about their own experiences. Teamwork and dialogue helped them build mutual understanding, cooperation and confidence in speaking English. The interactive environment made the session lively and energetic, leaving all students with a sense of accomplishment.
此次赴华东交通大学文化英语角交流活动，是我校国际商学院英语教学实践与跨文化交流工作的一次有益探索。未来，我校英语协会将在王伟副院长的指导下，继续搭建多元化的英语学习与交流平台，组织更多优质的跨文化交流活动，助力同学们在提升语言能力的同时，增强文化自信，成为优秀的跨文化交流使者！
